Wetlands under Ramsar Convention

2nd July1990 Czechoslovakia became a member of Ramsarsque convention on Wetlands of International Importance, Especially as Waterfowl Habitats (Ramsar, 1971). Slovak republic, after its creation on 1.1.1993 undertook responsibility as a member of Ramsarsque convention. Executive committee of convention in Slovak republic is the Ministry of environment.

Wetlands, which have international importance for ecology, botany, zoology, limnology or hydrology, but first of all as a biotops for water birds, were announced by members of convention to the Schedule of internationally Important Wetlands (Next: Schedule). From Slovak republic were to the Schedule announced:
