Soil Soil violation and contamination from the cement industry
During the last three years extraction of materials for the cement industry has gradually decreased. Least quantities of prime materials for the cement industry were extracted in 2001 – 2570,84 kt in comparison with 1999 when the extractions reached more than 5000 kt.
Fig. 12 Extraction of materials for the cement industry
In the extraction of materials for the cement industry the damaged land considerably exceeds the recovered land. In 1999 the damaged land was 3.33 times more than the recovered one, while in 2001 this correlation was 12.33 times.

The extraction of facing stone materials during the last year was strongly reduced from 493.5 kt in 2000 to 96.8 kt in 2001 year (fig.14), while generated dusts remain at the same level during the last three years (fig.15).

There is a strong reduction in the extraction of building materials during the year 2001 - from 25347.5 kt in 1999 to 9014.9 kt in 2001. This shows a considerable decrease by 64% in 2001 in comparison with 1999. The level of dusts generation from extraction during the last three years has not changed considerably. The utilized dusts represent 47% of the total generated dusts (1999- 2001). Fig. 16 Extracting of materials for building
