Municipal waste collected and total income per capita
Figure 3 illustrates the trends in the total collected municipal waste and the average gross income per capita of household for the period from 1998 to 2001. Data shows that during the period 1999-2001 the average annual quantity of municipal waste collected on the landfills for organized collection was 507 kg per capita. The average gross income per capita of household was between 817-727 USD in the same period.
The waste is not weighed at the landfills’ gates and the data submitted to the municipal administrations is based on the number of loading and waste transportation trips. In 2001 there are 14 weighing bridges at landfills.
