Industrial noise

The large industrial plants do add significantly to the acoustic environment of the settlements, because most of them are situated in industrial zones, and some of them are not operating at full capacity or at all.

Problems are, however, created by small facilities operating locally, situated within or nearby residential buildings. There is a large variety of these sources, and they cannot be precisely typified. The equipment they work with can emit high noise levels due to technical or attitudinal problems.
