feasibility study funded by GTZ was started in 1997.

1995, participating in the ENRIN focal point meeting in Warsaw in October
1995, the Internet Seminar in Arendal and BALLERINA workshop in Stockholm
in 1996, the BALLERINA conference in Riga in May 1997 and the Rovaniemi
meeting in 1998.
The SoE Estonia on the Internet was launched in 1996, Estonia participated

Georgia has participated in the ENRIN programme since 1995, a feasibility
study funded by UNEP has been completed in 1996, a World Bank funded
project the establishment of GRID Tbilisi has been initiated in 1997.

other international environmental information activities, such as
participating in the UNEP/OECD seminar in Moscow in 1995, organizign a
national ENRIN seminar for Georgia in Kazbegi in 1996 and participating in
the SoE on Internet workshop in Arendal in 1997 and the Aral Sea SoE
workshop in Bishkek in 1997.
The SoE Georgia on the Internet was launched in 1996 and has subsequently
been widely disseminated to the NIS and elsewhere as a model.

Hungary has participated in the ENRIN programme since 1993, GRID-Budapest
is operational since 24 April 1997, its implementation has been financed by
the Swiss and the Norwegian Governments.
GRID-Budapest has taken an active role in UNEP's and other international

focal point meeting in Warsaw in 1995, in the Internet Seminar in Arendal
and hosting the SoE on Internet workshop in Budapest in 1998.

Poland
Cooperation initiated already in 1989. GRID-Warsaw has been established as
a joint initiative of UNEP and the Norwegian and Polish and Ministries of
Environment, the centre has been opeded on 17 September 1991.
GRID-Warsaw has taken an active role in UNEP's and other international
environmental information activities, such as hosting the ENRIN focal point
meeting in Warsaw in 1995, participation in Internet Seminar in Arendal and
BALLERINA workshop in Stockholm in 1996, the coordination of Dobris+3 data
collection in the PHARE countries in 1997-98 and participation in the
Rovaniemi meeting in 1998.
The SoE Poland on the Internet was launched in 1997, Poland participated in
the Internet Seminar in Budapest in 1998.

The Russian Federation has participated in the ENRIN programme since 1994
following long-term involvements with UNEP and GRID starting in 1987. The

other international environmental information activities, such as
co-organizing the UNEP/OECD seminars in Moscow in 1995, participating in
the the Electronic Highway Seminar in Arendal in 1995, the ENRIN focal
point meeting in Warsaw in 1995, the BALLERINA conference in Riga in 1997.
