In Akhaltsikhe two ingredients, dust and carbon monoxide were monitored in 1994. The city's atmospheric pollution is characterized by the high concentration of dust. Here the average yearly concentration exceeds permissible 4.7 times and maximal concentration -- 2.8 times. During last 10 years dust levels remained high, while nitrogen dioxide levels decreased.
