
By 1996 one could ascertain a new and clearer profile of Georgian Biodiversity in several fields, from microbiology to human ecology, and from zoology and ornithology to forestry and botany. We summarize certain of the information which is presently being processed, with detailed information to be made available in 1997. Materials will include the latest information on small mammals, ornithology, herpetology, entomology, ichthyology, mycology, genetics of human populations as well as remote sensing (Illustration 1)and other technologies for the protection of biodiversity.
