Unfortunately, there is no systematic monitoring of industrial pollution of soils performed in the country.
Generally, it is already recognized that heavy metals are major industrial pollutants of soils (vanadium, cobalt,
manganese, copper, molibden, nickel, lead, zinc, tin, brom).
In 1992, 160 samples of soils were analyzed within the territories of Tbilisi and Rustavi urban agglomerations, which had not demonstrated dangerous levels of soil pollution.
