The land is mainly used for pastures. In the East and North there are vineyards and tea plantations.

On the West of Patara Narionali there is artificial forest. The lakes : Patara and Didi Narionali are used for the fisheries of local importance. From the South of the lakes there are artificial reservoirs which are used for fishery economy.

The further territory is drained and used for agricultural purposes.

The land reform in Georgia is being implemented . As a result we can have serious changes, for the different types of the land use.

There is a possibility of private ownershiep on the lakes, that will may cause danger to the local and the migratory species of birds.
