In the general plan it is necessary to note, that major industrial accidents are not characteristic for  the Republic of Moldova and in the last years about were not marked.

However, the hazards of natural character put significant damage notonly natural objects and ecosystems, but also human habitat, industrial objects and complexes, agriculture plants, animals andbirds. The result of these phenomena puts significant damage to a economy andwell-being of the people in a region of calamities. Rather frequently at natural risk consequences wreck of the people, animals, birds and agricultural crops takes place.

For the Republic of Moldova such natural phenomena and disasters, as drought, storm precipitations, hailstones phenomena, delayed frosts, epidemy, hurricanes and gales, landslide processes and earthquakes are characteristic. Appearence of these hazardous phenomena are distinguished sach as on temporary, as well as on the physical characteristics.

In the last years in the Republic of Moldova some strengthening of the natural hazards a is marked: - storm phenomena in some places with a large hailstones in years 1992, 1994, 1996 and 1997; - hurricanes and gales - in years 1992, 1994 1997; - frosts in years 1993, 1996 and 1997; landslides phenomena - 1992, 1994, 1997, 1998;  - and other.
In the beggining of spring 1998 in the Republic of Moldova landslides activities in 15 districts of the country is marked: in dangerous situation are staying more than 2100 of houses in 65 villages and 12 towns, etc. One of the more dangerous landslide have took plase in period of end of February and beggining of March 1998 in v.Leusheni (district Hinceshti), and the consequences of wich was terrible for population and local economy: 361 of destroyed houses, 1300 persons have lose all goods they had acumulate  and  one's own shelter.
 
In conclusion, it is necessary to mention the necessity of the elaboration and implementation of strategic action program and national action plan on major accidents prevention, on better risk management.
